Once this has been made explicit, dialogues are established with Donald Davidson's approaches to subjective experience and truth, and reference is made to melancholy as an explanatory fold in the subject's relationship with the world. La imaginación dialéctica, la imaginación poética y la imaginación experimental, se abordan como tres tipos de imaginación útiles para dar cuenta de debates y posturas filosóficas en torno a cuestiones como la “segunda naturaleza”, la terapia y la poesía en la tradición analítica o las consecuencias del giro empírico en tiempos más recientes. Una vez explicitado ello se plantean diálogos con los planteamientos de Donald Davidson en relación con la experiencia subjetiva y la verdad, y se hace una referencia a la melancolía como pliegue explicativo de la relación del sujeto con el mundo.
